Akhirah

Akhirah means life after death. It is the place that we will all enter after we pass away in this life.

To believe in the akhirah is very important in Islam. It is one of the Pillars of Iman (belief).

Our life in this world is not for ever. After this life ends, we enter another place - the akhirah. The next life - the akhirah is forever - so that is why we have to do lots of good deeds as a Muslim to be able to go to Jannah (Paradise) in the Akhirah.
If you are bad, and do a lot of bad deeds in this life, then you can go to Hell-fire.

This life is meant to be a preparation for the Akhirah. On the Day of Judgement, we will be tested to see if we can enter Jannah. Allah our good deeds and all our bad deeds will be scaled to see which ones we have more of.

To make sure that we have prepared for the Akhirah and be rewarded by Allah, The Merciful and The Kind, we need to do all that Allah says that we should do, and give up all bad habits and wrong actions. We can do this if we follow the guidance given to Muhammad (peace be upon him) by Allah - like the Qur'an and sunnah.

“O you who believe! Be afraid of Allaah and give up what remains (due to you) from Ribaa (from now onward) if you are (really) believers”
