    99 Names Of Allah (SWT)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The most beautiful names in the world belong to the One True God, Allah.

Many people are unaware that God has 99 names; and each and every name describes His most beautiful attributes. God has ordained for mankind to call and evoke Him by His names.

Prophet Muhammad (May Allah’s peace and blessings be sent upon him) said: “To God belongs 99 names, 100 minus 1, anyone who memorizes them will enter Paradise; He (God) is odd (He is the Only One), and He loves odd numbers (such as 99).

Allah! La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. (Qu’ran 20:8)

Here is the list of Allah’s Beautiful Names and Attributes.

    Allah (The Name of God)
Allah is the al-Ism al-A’zam, The Greatest Name, which holds all of the divine and beautiful attributes. Allah is the only One deity that is to be worshipped. He deserves to be the Only One worshipped by His whole creation. He is Allah, Lord of the Worlds.

Allah is the cause of all of existence and He does not resemble any of His creation in any way. The name Allah belongs to only Allah!! Nothing else can in any way assume that they have this name or share it with Him. Stated in this verse of the Qu’ran: “Do you know anyone who is similar to Him?” (Qu’ran 19:65)

The name Allah holds five meanings that indicate the non-resemblance of Allah to anything else that He has created. They are:

    · He is before the before. He came from eternity and He will always be in eternity. He always was.
    · He is after the after, Eternal; He will always be.
    · He is unique, without partner, without resemblance and the cause of all that exists. All is in need of Him and He is in need of nothing. He commands His creations to exist by saying, “Be” and it is.
    · He is the Creator, bearing no resemblance to the created.
    · He is self-existent without need of anything.

Allah is perfection. His perfection is infinite and will never diminish. The name Allah holds eight attributes indicating the perfection of Allah.
    · Allah is Ever-Living
    · Allah is All-Knowing
    · Allah is All-Hearing
    · Allah is All-Seeing
    · What Allah wills is His
    · Allah has all power
    · All that exists and their actions depend on Him.
    · The word, all that is said and taught belongs to Him.

“Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists). Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi (throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.” (This ayat is called Ayat-ul-Kursi.)
